    In the midst of our cookouts, or day at the lake, or whatever you do on this day off, let’s not forget its purpose.  Memorial Day is to honor the men and women who’ve died in the service of their country.  We owe them all a debt of gratitude and whether it’s just as simple as reminding your kids what the day is about, or going to ceremonies to commemorate it.  I hope all of us will take a moment to reflect on their sacrifices.

The undeniably best teams in the Central Hockey League open their best of seven championship series tonight in Texas---the Thunder are coming off back to back sweeps in the playoffs and haven&rsquo;t played for a week.   11. Shockers rout Oral Roberts, 8-0

    Garrett Brummett pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out five as the Shocker pitching staff combined to throw a one-hit shutout in a 8-0 win against Oral Roberts on Wednesday night. Austin Sanders, Zach Beringer, and Tobin Mateychick relieved Brummett for the remainder of the game and continued the pitching gem for the Shockers. The three relief pitchers combined to throw four innings without surrendering a hit to the Golden Eagles.
