1. For What It's Worth: February 22nd

For What it’s Worth---on this February 22 -- And to think—there was a time that I loved snow. Like many, I spent way too much time yesterday digging out of Antarctica. Fortunately, I was able to enlist the help of my just turned 14 year old son. Perspective is a funny thing, I saw it as a bonding moment—ok, there was nothing momentary about it—but a little father and son time can never hurt. He, on the other hand, surely saw it as penance for something he’d done to his sister. Oh well, the driveway got cleared.

3. Eagles offense will soar, one way or another

— Could Chip Kelly's Read Option have more of a Reid Option flavor to it next season?
— Could Chip Kelly's Read Option have more of a Reid Option flavor to it next season? Based on Monday's rather surprising turn of events at Philadelphia Eagles headquarters, it's possible. The new coach's decision to bring back Michael Vick, the...

5. Eagles can take lessons from observing Ravens in Super Bowl

Even though owner Jeffrey Lurie made it perfectly clear he doesn't want a master copycat to run his Philadelphia Eagles, there are certain notes their unconventional new head coach, Chip Kelly, and his future staff needed to take from this latest Super Bowl.

7. Has it become necessary for elite athletes to take PEDs?

At the end, when his body began failing, Manny Fernandez took any drug the Miami Dolphins' team doctor gave him. When Butazolidin, illegal in race horses, took his white count to dangerous levels, the doctor prescribed Indocin, which ate his stomach...

9. Lack of diversity still big problem in NFL

One longtime acquaintance on an NFL coaching staff called with a rhetorical question that pops into my head whenever somebody mentions the league's problem hiring African-American head coaches.

11. From the hire point, the descent can be sudden for L.A. coaches

He was once the face of college basketball, Hoosiers personified, a small-town kid who this spring brought a smile, a swagger and a national championship resume to the UCLA program. Yet before he even coached one practice, someone had created a Facebook...

13. Thirty years ago, the 76ers had championship spirit, talent, chemistry

By the time I made it to the Spectrum for the first time in 1978, Philadelphia's first modern indoor sports arena was anything but. Gum and dried food stuck under and on the seats, floors were tacky and it had an ambience more fitting for a vampire...

15. O-linemen are A-listers in 2013 NFL draft

NEW YORK -- If there was any doubt, the NFL is still tackle football. Five of the first 19 picks in the opening round of the 2013 draft were offensive tackles, including three of the first four selections. Three guards and a center went too on a...

17. Much different Eagles roster composition expected this year

The practices and locker room have been closed all year. Players and coaches have been deliberately vague about schemes and position changes. But that cannot stop us, ladies and gentlemen, from taking a shot at projecting the final Philadelphia Eagles...

19. For What it's Worth: On the Learning Curve

As some of you know, I’ve embarked on a freelance career. Since January 1 I’ve put myself out there as a play-by-play talent and I’ve been pleased with the results. In the last week I’ve worked the Arkansas spring football game with ESPN’s Jimmy Dykes and called three softball games at top ranked Oklahoma with two-time gold medalist Dr. Dot Richardson.

21. Handing coaching job to Kelly is risky proposition for Eagles

Don't let the visor fool you. New Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly is no Steve Spurrier.
Don't let the visor fool you. New Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly is no Steve Spurrier. He won't have time to play much golf over these next few months or, if all goes right, years. He's completely driven only to be the best football coach and is...

23. By and bye, Adrian Peterson, others in NFL come tantalizingly close

Two thousand steps forward. Two big steps back. On a Sunday when Minnesota's Adrian Peterson became the seventh NFL player to run for 2,000 yards — coming within nine of breaking Eric Dickerson's season rushing record — two teams backpedaled...
