5. Corey Graham getting acclimated to the Ravens

When the Ravens signed Corey Graham on March 23, the team thought it was getting a special-teams ace who had gone to the Pro Bowl in 2011 as a member of the Chicago Bears. The Ravens also got a capable cornerback who started a total of 10 games in 2008 and 2009 for the Bears.

7. Pollard on the Ravens defense: 'You can't stop us'

Ravens strong safety Bernard Pollard was rewarded this month with a contract extension, a deal that can keep him in Baltimore through 2015. Pollard made 75 tackles and broke up a career-high 13 passes in 2011, his first season here, but he insists his attitude and his play won’t change now that he has a new deal.

9. Cornerback Cary Williams optimistic about a long-term deal

Ravens cornerback Cary Williams attended Wednesday’s organized team activity, marking the second straight week he has been on hand for the voluntary workouts. His presence was notable because he is recovering from offseason hip surgery and also because of his clouded contract situation.

The season was a whirlwind for the Ravens' 2011 class of rookies.
The season was a whirlwind for the Ravens' 2011 class of rookies. It swept them up when the NFL lockout ended last July and dropped them at The Castle in Owings Mills a day later for their first training camp. It carried them through a 12-4 season all...

15. Ravens news and notes after second OTA

I feel like I have to preface every one of these post-OTA observation blogs by offering the reminder that drawing any conclusions from these workouts would be foolish on my part. Still, some players clearly make a bigger impression than others and I can say without hesitation that nobody stood out more in yesterday’s session than second-year wide receiver LaQuan Williams. First of all, conditioning was not the issue for him, but Williams looks even leaner and much more explosive than he did during his rookie season. And during drills, Williams showed great speed and tremendous hands, even making a one-handed catch in traffic at one point on a Joe Flacco pass. Williams also beat Lardarius Webb on a couple of occasions along the sideline. With 12 receivers on the Ravens’ roster and the addition of several accomplished special teams players, Williams likely faces another uphill battle to make the team. But something tells me that’s just the way he wants it and he’s more than up for the challenge.

19. Ravens expect 'greatness' from Jimmy Smith

Jimmy Smith was standing less than 10 yards away and listening to his head coach field questions from reporters. So when John Harbaugh was asked about the Ravens' second-year cornerback, he flashed a quick smile toward Smith and then answered in a manner one might expect given his audience.

23. Jimmy Smith 'just trying to stay disciplined' on double moves

Jimmy Smith’s first start of 2012 did not end as well as he might have anticipated.
