1. Tice's Bears offense likely to resemble 2002-05 Vikings

If you want to know what Mike Tice's Bears offense will look like in the fall, it isn't a crystal ball you need.
If you want to know what Mike Tice's Bears offense will look like in the fall, it isn't a crystal ball you need. It's a time machine. Set at 2003 or so. From 2002 to 2005, Tice was head coach of the Vikings. He didn't coordinate the offense or call...

3. Turn to Team NBC for most complete Preakness TV coverage

Last year, 8.8 million viewers saw NBC’s coverage of the Preakness. That’s the kind of big-tent mass audience that makes the race one of Baltimore’s showcase events. And that doesn’t count the hundreds of thousands who will watch pre- and post-race coverage on the NBC Sports Network cable channel.

5. Preakness coverage by NBC shows power of preparation

NBC Sports says it had 170 employees in Baltimore this week to cover the Preakness, and from the looks of the TV package it presented, all of them earned their keep.

NBC Sports says it had 170 employees in Baltimore this week to cover the Preakness, and from the looks of the TV package it presented, all of them earned their keep. NBC's network coverage started at 4:30 p.m., and it hardly ever sagged for more than a...

7. Bears believe Cutler, veterans will be positive influence on receiver

When the Patriots were an ascending team about a decade ago, Bill Belichick nary would mess with a character risk. Every player he acquired was Boy Scout clean and Belichick, who had been burned with some shady players when he was coach of the Browns,...

15. Mocking the Ravens: all eight of their draft picks

I love mocking, which is why I have produced five first-round mock drafts in the past two months (and it’s why I have greeted your criticism of said mock drafts with an aw-shucks shrug of the shoulders). In my latest first-round mock, which was released Tuesday night, I had the Ravens selecting Alabama linebacker Dont’a Hightower with the 29th pick in the NFL draft. Why stop there? How about I project all eight of their picks?

17. Preston: Randy Moss wouldn't be bad for a year or two

There is speculation the Ravens have interest in receiver Randy Moss, and I have no problems with the team trying to pursue him as long as they don't mortgage away the future. I can't see the Ravens doing that because that's not general manager Ozzie Newsome's style. Even though Moss has been away from the game for a short time, he's still probably one of the fastest receivers in the league, and all opposing defenses have to respect speed. At the right price, I wouldn't mind seeing him line up opposite Torrey Smith with Anquan Boldin in the slot. The Ravens had similar plans for Lee Evans last year, but he spent most of 2011 on the sideline with a high ankle sprain.
