SAN DIEGO (AP) — After dealing with the commotion over his fake online girlfriend and his flop in the national championship game, Manti Te'o believes he's ready for the NFL. That includes being mentally tough enough for the verbal abuse he'll...

3. NFL Draft '13: When will Te'o be selected?

NEW YORK (AP) - When it comes to the NFL draft, getting tricked into an online relationship with a girl that didn't exist ended up being the least of Manti Te'o's problems.
NEW YORK (AP) - When it comes to the NFL draft, getting tricked into an online relationship with a girl that didn't exist ended up being the least of Manti Te'o's problems. That stinker of a game he played against Alabama? Now that's an issue. Same goes...

5. Brandt: Manti Te'o's draft stock could plummet

Here's the real story: Manti Te'o's stock in the NFL draft already was sinking. Blame his performance in the BCS title game, not any hoax or conspiracy, for that. Still, the uncertainty surrounding Notre Dame's All-American linebacker could further...

9. Ravens news, notes and opinions after Wednesday's OTAs

As I expected, there was a lot more made of who didn’t show up at this week’s organized team activities than who did. The absences of Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata and Vonta Leach in particular seemed to spur the most questions. Again, the workouts are voluntary and some players choose to stay home and work out on their own. Coach John Harbaugh pointed out that the team didn’t see Ray Lewis much – if at all – in the offseason. Ed Reed wasn’t exactly a fixture at OTAs either. And Joe Flacco mentioned that Anquan Boldin wasn’t traditionally at the facility this time of year either. The comments weren’t made to disparage any of the three players but the point was made. The Ravens knew that those players would be ready to go when needed, which is the same feeling they have with the likes of Suggs, Ngata, Leach and Marshal Yanda, who also was a no-show. The Ravens have 90 players on their roster and all but about six of them were on the field in some capacity. And another veteran, Jacoby Jones, is expected to arrive today after his third-place finish in Dancing with the Stars. That should be far more the story than the handful of players who didn’t show at a workout they technically didn’t have to be at.

Like he did to so many NFL running backs in 13 years, Brian Urlacher hit Chicago hard Wednesday morning.

13. No athlete since Jordan symbolized Chicago more than Urlacher

Whenever Brian Urlacher does something to confirm he hates attention as much as he loves football — grunt through a news conference, breeze by adoring fans, retire via Twitter — my mind goes back to 2003 in a corner of the Bears locker room.

17. The Ravens' defense will benefit from leadership of Dumervil

Elvis Dumervil had just settled in to meet the media after the Ravens' workout Wednesday when a voice rang out behind the semi-circle of TV cameras, tape recorders and notebooks. "What the hell, Elvis?!" Joe Flacco yelled in mock outrage. The Ravens'...

21. Mike Preston's observations from Wednesday's workout

Brian Urlacher revolutionized the middle linebacker position in the NFL.
Brian Urlacher revolutionized the middle linebacker position in the NFL. Yeah, he was that good, that rare an athlete. He was a special talent with a uncommon combination of size and speed. At 6 foot 4 and 250-plus pounds Urlacher had the footwork and...
