    Unfortunately, as our&nbsp; body ages so does our minds, and for some, that could mean the possibility of developing dementia. However, you don&rsquo;t have to settle for such a grim possibility; there is much you can do personally to fight against cognitive impairment. For example, recent research shows that strength training can absolutely enhance cognitive function in individuals with mild impairment. And while aerobics has been shown to improve physical fitness and balance, strength training, in particular, brings about cognitive improvements. Lifting weights is easy preventative medicine. The best part is, if you are not currently lifting weights, you can begin at any age and still see vast improvements in your health status. What is more, older individuals that exercise regularly have improved self-esteem and self-confidence, contributing to a positive outlook.
