5. Redefining the 'real' Miami night life experience

MIAMI —A cool ocean breeze cut the day's humidity. Dresses up to there in hot pink sequins and acid yellows colored the sidewalks. It was around midnight on a Thursday in Miami's South Beach neighborhood, and the evening was just getting started....

You know a South Beach restaurant is a hit when it attracts the kind of nightlife veterans who insist that there's a better table than the one they're about to be seated at. Such was the scene Saturday night at Dolce Italian inside the vintage 1941 Gale...

  13. Weekend Preview: Miami Heat's Mario Chalmers to host Fort Lauderdale fundraiser Saturday

Whether in a cartoony red-and-blue Super Mario costume bouncing around the Miami Heat’s “Harlem Shake” video or in his work clothes stepping in for a cramping LeBron James as a savior in Game 4 of last year’s NBA Finals, the contributions of Mario Chalmers are too often overlooked.

  15. On the road, off the court: Where Bulls play

In a regular NBA season encompassing 72 games, the Chicago Bulls will travel to 23 cities from coast to coast over the course of 51/2 months, visiting a few of those cities (New York and Los Angeles) more than once. Though they travel by private jet (except for a couple of bus trips to Milwaukee), it's a punishing schedule sleep-wise because players and coaches don't leave for their next destination until after a game. With hotel arrival times at 2 a.m. or 3 a.m., there isn't much time to explore their destinations, but players certainly have their favorite spots to land, usually related to family and warm weather.

  23. Kingsley Guy: County name change makes sense
