    My girlfriend Stephanie and I consider ourselves the Romeo and Juliet of Roller Derby! Two years ago, I was coaching the Houston league under the name "Dirty" and Stephanie was a skater for the Pearland league under the name "Buns-N-Roses." Our leagues' rivalry was legendary; Houston referred to Pearland as "The Dark Side," and Pearland called our league "The Evil Empire." So I eventually went undercover to scout a Pearland bout. During the bout, Buns was knocked out of bounds and literally fell at my feet. She looked up at me, then winked and said, "Hi," before rejoining the action. Her fall was the moment when I fell for her! After the bout, I asked her out, claiming I was on a diplomatic mission to improve league relationships. Buns saw through my ruse, but still said "Yes." Although we've retired from Derby since, an occasional elbow or hip check still attaches itself to the question: "When are we getting married?!?" I plan to propose to her inside Disney World's Cinderella Castle this August. We both love rock-n-roll music, and a ROCK from Robbins Brothers - Baybrook would help us to ROLL down the aisle just like the day we met!
