    Mary A. (Coons) Krause, 87, Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin, formerly of Jennerstown, died Feb. 23, 2011, at Meadow View. Born July 18, 1923, daughter of Leroy and Ellen (Beegle) Coons. Preceded in death by parents; husband Ernest L. Krause on May 18, 1980; sisters: Betty Coons, Virginia Miller and Velma Frick; brother Paul Coons; and three grandchildren. Survived by children: Shirley McGrory, Pittsburgh; Donald L. married to former Emily Erisman, Alexandria, Va.; Martin J. Mayer; William E. married to former Susan Berkley, Somerset; and John A. married to former Judy Shaffer, Sipesville; brother John &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; Coons and wife Liz, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Retired cook for North Star School District. Member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ladies Auxiliary to Jennerstown Volunteer Fire Department and the Trinity Chapter 138, Order of Eastern Star. Mary enjoyed quilting, playing bingo, camping, attending auctions, going to local stock car races and driving to Burger King in Jenners. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where O.E.S. service will be held 7 p.m. Friday and funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dennis L. Doebler presiding. Interment Kaufman Cemetery, Davidsville.
