PHOTOS: Wheaton Resident Turns 800 Pound Pumpkin Into A Work Of Art
On tonight's WGN News at Five, I'll be profiling Joe Adkins, a Wheaton resident who grows giant pumpkins and turns them into works of art. He uses a technique called "surface carving," etching lifelike faces into the surface of his 800+ pound pumpkins.
We'll post my TV feature with Joe here on the blog after it airs. For now, check out some photos I snapped at his home today. You can stop by and take a look at the pumpkins yourself - the Adkins home is located at 1522 Childs Street in Wheaton.
