John William Hatton Jr., 92 of Winchester, husband of Mary Roman Hatton, passed away on Frday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the St. Joseph East Hospital. Mr. Hatton was born in Owingsville on May 31, 1920 to the late John William and Lellie Lee Jones Hatton. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service Rural Letter Carrier, a World War II Army Veteran in the European and Pacific theaters, a life member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans and a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hatton is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann Hatton Lee (James) of Winchester and Joyce Ellen Hatton Roberts (William) of Belle Fountaine, OH; 6 grandchildren, James Arthur Lee Jr., Kristen Lee Conway (Tim), John Allen Lee (Lisa), Bess Reddick Standley (Brandon), Erin Roberts Gillig (Ben), and Katherine Marie Roberts; her great granchildren; 2 sisters, Minnie King and Eula Vern Witt; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 by Bishop Michael Bennett. Burial will follow in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Arthur Lee Jr., John Allen Lee, Tim Conway, Brandon Standley, Evan Standley, and Rodney Guedel.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27 at Scobee Funeral Home.
In lieu of food or flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 800 Harkins Dr., Winchester, KY 40391.
