NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) — Funeral arrangements are set for a kindergartner who collapsed on a playground during a West Michigan elementary school's field day and died.
The Muskegon Chronicle and WOOD-TV report services for 6-year-old Nikolas Wypa are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church in Norton Shores, where he was a member. Visitation is scheduled for Friday at the Systema Funeral Homes' Lee Chapel in Norton Shores.
Nikolas was unresponsive Monday afternoon at Churchill Elementary School in Norton Shores before being taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of death wasn't known.
Officials have said his mother was volunteering for field day and was quickly at her son's side.
