June is National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month and the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter is participating with hundreds of shelters across the country by offering special rates.
Cats younger than 1 year are usually $75 each, but they will be offered at two cats for the price of one. Cats 1 year and older can be adopted for just $20. Spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and testingf or feline leukemia and FIV are included with the fee.
The shelter is located at 3410 S. Walnut. It is open to the public Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12-5 p.m. The shelter is open from 12-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Friday and from 1-4 p.m. on Sundays.
Adoptable animals also can be seen on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at the Farmers’ Market, and they can be viewed on the shelter website.
