Zac Efron |
Efron, star of the "High School Musical" movies, is in talks to star in an adaptation of Ben Sherwood's 2005 novel, according to Variety.
The story follows 28-year-old Charlie, who at age 13 crashes a car and accidentally kills his brother Sam. That doesn't stop them, though, from reuniting with Sam for a nightly game of catch at the graveyard where Charlie works. Efron would, presumably, play the title role.
The 21-year-old will co-star later this year in the body-swapping film "17 Again." On March 23, he exercised his script approval option to opt out of a contract for the lead role in a remake of the 1984 dance movie "Footloose."
