The Indiana Track and Field Championships took place all day Friday in Bloomington.
They didn't turn the lights on in the stadium until the 2nd to last event, coincidence perhaps, or maybe they knew Mishawaka's Anna Rohrer was ready for her latest amazing moment.
Rohrer was only running one event, the 3200 meter race. She's targeted this for a year after she won the state title as a sophomore but finished 2 hundredths of a second behind the state record.
Rohrer didn't just break the record this time, she obliterated it, finishing in 10:14.43, more than six seconds better than the previous record-holder.
Some of the other top performers from the day - Penn's Ashleigh Macleod won the state title in the 800, with Riley's Kacie O'Neal 4th.
Warsaw and Adams finished 2nd and 3rd in the 4x100 relay.
In the field events, Leah Heckaman of Culver Academies took 4th in the shotput and 5th in the discus.
The boys meet is Saturday back on IU's campus.
