Along with talking to your doctor, you may also want to meet with an athletic trainer.
They certainly train more than athletes. In fact, more of them are moving into the workplace.
"There's actually a big push for athletic trainers to be working in industrial settings due to the work hardening that they have, meaning they are overusing certain body parts so they're doing things over and over," said athletic trainer Kara Werner. "A lot of our prevention besides just the taping and bracing is also to help educate people on how their bodies work and to keep them from getting those chronic or acute injuries."
Werner says education is key. Knowing how your body operates can be the first step to preventing injury or illness.
