Police tell our photographer on scene the student driver was attempting to make a right turn into the Martin's Super Market parking lot while going westbound on Western.

Officers say the driver was going too fast for the turn and went over the curb. The driver panicked, hit the gas, and went through the parking lot and into the left corner of the fireworks outlet store.

The vehicle finally stopped at the back wall of the store.

Police say the driver's ed instructor riding with the student tried to use the auxiliary brake to stop the vehicle, but wasn't able to keep the car from crashing.

Both the student driver and teacher have been taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters are working on removing the car now.
