Tennessee Titans linebacker Colin McCarthy confirmed he was undergoing shoulder surgery Friday which could end his season.

"Heading into surgery this morning. Want to thank everyone for (their) support and prayers during this time. It means a lot. Thank you," McCarthy said on Twitter.

McCarthy suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

McCarthy, a captain in 2012, was a fourth-round draft pick of the Titans in 2011. He started 19 of 36 games in his first three seasons.
