Within hours of the win Saturday night, Irish fans were trying to find a way to get down to Miami and get tickets for the title game. Anthony Travel, which handles bowl trip tours for Notre Dame, is offering travel packages. Employees worked on Sunday to answer the thousands of calls and emails they're getting.
It was a night to remember.
"It was amazing we were all jumping up and down yelling, celebrating outside in the balcony," said Notre Dame Senior Katelyn Pelton.
"It was definitely exciting, everybody actually bought most of their tickets last night to go there," said Notre Dame senior Farah Tahmassebi.
Tahmassebi's family bought plane tickets to Miami, but getting tickets to the BCS National Championship Game is another matter.
"It would be nice to have tickets to the game to just go with my family and enjoy it again," said Tahmassebi.
Within hours of the win, Notre Dame Athletics emailed online ticket lottery application information to alumni. Tickets for alums are $350 a piece. There's a limit of two per applicant.
Anthony Travel is offering Notre Dame Bowl Tour travel packages, but there will be a limited number of game tickets that the travel agency can make available.
If you want to try to get tickets that way, the sign up for the drawing starts Monday. They're telling people the best way to get information is to add your email to their online inquiry form: http://www.anthonytravel.com/notredame/irish-bowl/
"I think it would be awesome to get tickets, but I think just being down there and being around all the other Irish fans will just be worth it anyways," said Pelton.
There is one thing available to fans right now: New sports gear reflecting Notre Dame's undefeated season. It's not in local stores yet, but you can buy it online.
"I think yeah definitely might as well. When was the last time we went undefeated and such an awesome season so definitely go to get that," Pelton said.
If you're looking for tickets online from vendors like stubhub, the cheapest ticket we found on that website today was selling for $1,600.
One thing is for sure ... Already it looks like demand for these tickets by Notre Dame fans is on track to outpace the supply.
