“The U.S. Postal Service has a long history of serving our country by delivering the mail to every community—no matter the size. The fiscal challenges the Postal Service is facing are due, in part, to overpayments in its retirement obligations. That is why I am a co-sponsor of The United States Postal Service Pension Obligation Recalculation and Restoration Act of 2011, H.R. 1351, which would correct these overpayments and therefore give the Postal Service the time it needs to develop long-term solutions to keep serving its customers.”
