In court Wednesday, Terry Sturgis withdrew his notice to use an insanity defense.
Sturgis also filed a motion to have 2 of 14 charges dismissed, citing double jeopardy.
Sturgis faces a murder charge in the November beating death of his son, 10-year-old Tramelle Sturgis.
