Look carefully in downtown SB, and you may see one of the Peregrine Falcons who have called this area home for several years. This Tuesday, their home may be gone forever, depending upon the decision of the commissioners to allow it atop the County-City building. Taken this past spring, Zephyr is seen dozing near his home on the southeast corner of The Tower Building here, his white eyelids visible.

I watch the falcons from my window in the Chase Tower. Three of them have gone but there is one remaining. Do they stay here for the winter? It seems strange to just have one falcon in the box and no others in sight.
