( Getty Images / August 7, 2012 ) Canadian soccer star Christine Sinclair and team coach Jon Herdman have both voiced their displeasure with the ref in the U.S./Canada semifinal calling a rare penalty of time-wasting on the Canadian goalkeeper, which led to a free kick. Then on the free kick, one of the Canadian players was struck in the arm by the ball when she could not get out of the way, which is a handball. A handball in the penalty area means a penalty kick, which Abby Wambach buried to tie the score 3-3. |
