The end of the road for Jimmy Darmody

After all that Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) went through in Season 2 of "Boardwalk Empire" -- the failed plots against Nucky, the deeply disturbing, incestuous relationship with his mom, the lingering trauma from World War I -- he was due for a little redemption, right?<br><br> Wrong. Nucky (Steve Buscemi) couldn't simply forgive him for all he had done over the course of the season, and so Jimmy ends up dead. It was a pretty spectacular exit, though, and Pitt played it to the hilt.
